Sprouting Kale

Potato Day

Anya (left); Charlotte (above)

The spuds went in today. I had already put a row of Belle de Fontenay (9 tubers) in, to this I added 4 rows of 'Anya' (32 tubers) , 2 rows of 'Rooster' (14 tubers) and a long row of 'Charlotte' (9 tubers). All planted in holes in the bottom of 10cm deep trenches and covered over. A little earth remains to the side in a ridge to make earthing up easier. The 'Charlotte' went in the very back bed which is covered in compost and will screen the duff fence a bit. In front of this I'll put the squash. The rest of the spuds went in the planned potato bed.

Cut the chicons forcing on the plot to make Belgian favourite chicken with chicons in beer.

The view south across half my plot. Pea wigwams, and mini cloches, with lettuce under.
