Removed two paths from the plot, lateral paths by the herbs and the one behind bed 1. They were pretty uneven and acted mainly as couch grass nurseries, relentlessly creeping into the beds. It makes the beds larger, but I will need some scaffold boards or similar as walkways to get to the beds for weeding,sowing and picking.
Put in one row (9 seeds) of potatoes, 'Belle de Fontnay' today; had 50 red onions sets to go into but couldn't be bothered as I was knackered from digging. Should remember to sow first, it is the primary task.
The tiny strawberry plants from Aldi have taken really well, the fruit bushes are coming into leaf and hopefully the apple will blossom soon, it has some nice buds on it, and there are lots of bumble bees appearing.
